On my way home from school, they snapped the sirens and all. Turns out they heard me coming from a mile away and thoguht I was speeding from all the noise. Time to buy some mufflers, I guess...

At least I didn't get any tickets or anything, just a few raised eyebrows.

I think they thought that I might be into something worth checking out. I mean, I wasn't exactly driving like a saint, but I wasn't speeding. Much.

I mean, it's Friday and I'm pretty much the prime target group for DUI enforcement, even if I never drink before I drive.

Yep, cops will key on to anything that makes you stand out.

So will old ladies in your neighborhood if you drive something loud. In high school I had some ~50 year chase me down for 3 blocks in the neighborhood to tell my parents I was speeding/racing and endangering the neighborhood children. Pretty amazing that she could chase a racing car on foot.

At least I don't have any neighborhood problems, as I live smack dab in the center of Porto Alegre, a major metropolitan area in southern Brazil. High crime rates and the somewhat seedy streets make loud cars the smallest of anyone's problems.

well the dual flowmaster super 44s (second loudest street muffler) is on the Montego now.

I've gotten a reading of 86 decibels at IDLE.

I've lived in seedy areas as well...but I never really had a car when I was there because when I did it was just broken into and/or stolen every couple weeks.
